Psychosocial risks exist in every workplace. What matters is how well they’re identified and managed.
Geneva Wellbeing is a New Zealand-based workplace psychology provider supporting organisations to identify, assess and manage psychosocial risks, helping reduce the risk of psychological and physical harm while improving wellbeing, performance and retention.
Whether you’re responding to rising mental health concerns, organisational change, high turnover or health and safety obligations, we provide evidence-based advisory services and practical next steps to help you build psychosocial safety with confidence.
A psychosocial risk assessment helps organisations understand how work design, leadership, systems and culture may be impacting employee mental health, wellbeing, and performance.
It identifies psychosocial risks that, if left unmanaged, can contribute to outcomes such as:
More importantly, it highlights where targeted controls and actions will make the greatest impact.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, New Zealand organisations have a duty to manage risks to health and safety, including psychosocial risks.
A proactive approach helps organisations:
Effective psychosocial risk management isn’t just about compliance — it’s a strategic investment in people and performance.
Our Psychosocial Risk Assessment provides a clear picture of your organisation’s psychosocial risk profile, using multiple data sources and an evidence-based framework aligned with ISO 45003 and WorkSafe guidance.
We evaluate organisational maturity across 12 key psychosocial risk factors including workload, work design, leadership, organisational support, role clarity, social support, change consultation, and more.
Each factor is rated using Umbrella’s four‑point maturity scale from Inactive to Proactive, helping you prioritise risk and focus effort where it matters most.
Hazard identification and risk assessment. We examine existing data, along with surveys, interviews and focus groups to understand the unique psychosocial risks in your workplace. This may include standalone assessments or integration with our broader Workplace Wellbeing Assessments.
Reporting and insights. We provide you with a clear, confidential report outlining key psychosocial risk areas, workforce sentiment, and organisational strengths and vulnerabilities.
Action planning. Our consultants work with you to develop a practical plan for addressing priority risks. This may include mental health and wellbeing strategy development, policy recommendations, leadership development, communication improvements or access to support services.
Training and support. We offer tailored workshops for leaders and teams to help them recognise psychosocial risks, manage stress and support one another through change or high-pressure environments.
Ongoing monitoring. We can support you with regular check-ins and reassessments to track progress, measure impact and refine your wellbeing initiatives.
Our assessments are tailored to your organisation and may include:
